Reviews
At least a few times a year, our group of gamers has the opportunity to play on a long Saturday. Eclipse, Here I Stand, Twilight Imperium 4, and other big games have been on the table. I’m certain we’ll get to Alliance of Powers again because for as long as it took, none of us felt that the game dragged on or that downtime was an issue at all. The game was engaging from start to finish, and it left us clenching our teeth in anger, cheering with victory, and laughing at some of the hilarious situations and events unfolding as we battled for this fictional world. Alliance of Powers is a refreshing take on the long, conquer-the-world strategy genre, and I’m glad we had the chance to play.
Pretty much anything is open for negotiation, from the length of the Year to whether a player will attack, or even let himself be attacked to give a player a Raw Material, and so on. We are four experienced heavy gamers, and we had some pretty good arguments and discussions. There were multiple cross-player deals where protection was granted. Turns out our winner had done a masterful job of diplomacy since he was able to convince the others to leave him alone long enough for him to grab so many of the islands. For my own part, I love a good game where just about anything is up for grabs and can be bargained for or achieved by wheeling and dealing. Alliance of Powers offers this in spades and the nature of the game, the power of the cards and weapons, and lots of other factors make negotiation a really fun and important part of the game.
Seeing how many reviews are sponsored these days, I’ll take this last line to disclose that I didn’t receive anything for this review. I saw the game, figured out how to buy it, and then we got to play it and had a blast. Thanks for a fun and engaging big war game!

Smarter than Axis, riskier than Risk. Alliance of Powers delivers when it comes to options. The ever changing landscape during set-up made each game unique, and the ebb and flow of battle kept me rethinking my strategies. Negotiations play a big part in this game, so the clashing and collaboration of personalities created some memorable game moments for us. I had long left war-themed table games, but Alliance of Powers brought it back for me.

Alliance of Powers is an innovative war game that rewards the player with rich, engrossing gameplay that remains competitive the whole way through. Even as the balance of power shifts, no one player ever becomes an untouchable force. Each player always feels engaged, whether on the winning or losing side of a battle.
The numerous objects beyond simple territorial expansion also keep the game fresh and interesting every time. Diplomacy feels built in much more than in some other games; with resources to manage and special goals to attain, players stand to gain more than mere non-aggression policies by allying with each other, adding further layers of complexity and intrigue in their dealings with one another.
With an accessible set of rules and mechanics, I heartily recommend Alliance of Powers to gamers of any sort!

The Alliance of Powers is the most engaging game I have ever played. The attention to every detail during the game,
along with the decisions of whom you want to make or break alliances with, makes this game thoroughly enjoyable. Other war games pale in comparison to the strategic, competitive nature of this game. Five stars....well done!

Alliance of Powers makes for an exciting and exhilarating board game. There are many elements to the game that make it an absolute blast to play. The Alliance of Powers is the best game I have ever played and will change the way we think about strategy games for many years to come.

I loved Alliance of Powers since the first time I played it. Since purchasing a copy, I've introduced it to my friends, and we always had a great time playing together. It was always a good time when we set a date and spent a summer afternoon playing together. I don't think I've met anyone who didn't enjoy playing.

Alliance of Powers is a fantastic game of strategy, deal-making, and military prowess. It is a delightful way to spend quality time with friends while probing the strengths and weaknesses of your opponents. It is a must-buy for every family!

After playing The Alliance of Powers, now Risk and Axis & Allies seem boring and predictable. This game is different every time you play, and it's always an exciting ride! It's easy enough for a 10-year old to understand the basics, yet there are a variety of features to keep you on the edge of your seat about what will happen next and give the game another twist!

One of the great strengths of "The Game" is how it is played differently every time, with varying objectives and arrangements of the various components on the map. Anyone who enjoys strategy games or military conquest can find something to enjoy.

This game is unlike anything I have ever played before. One of the key dynamics is that the setup changes every single time you play, so what worked before may not work again. While you can learn, and grow, and adapt your strategy, this game feels alive and remains one step ahead of its players with that "magical something." This game is guaranteed to stay fresh and never grow dull.
